The article from the economist tell us how social networks,like facebook and myspace are a useful tool but also can damaged the image of a company.This is case of Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.They discovered that their employees,published in this networks derogatory comments about the passengers("smelly","chavs".. ) and the planes conditions like the safety.

In addition,both companies had to do something because they donĀ“t want to show a bad image and lose clients,so on October 31st Virgin fired 13 crew members.Although British forbid this kind of actions through a new policy which allows only to post information about the firm with authorisation.Also Virgin create a channel where the employees can put their opinions.

They have to take more control over this social networks so they can guarantee that the rules are respected.
