Companies and social networks_1489

The Economist’s article ¨Losing face¨,published the 6th of November 2008 talks about the problems derived from the use in big firms,British Airways and Virgen Atlantic of social networks (Facebook and MySpace).

Firstly it is stated the two faces of those networks, because while they can be a wonderful marketing tool they can also cause many problems.
Virgin has recently fired 13 employees for having put inappropriate comments on the company’s safety and passengers in Facebook.

Secondly we are told how bad this is for public relations.Firms can not allow their employees cause damage to the company image by expressing their personal opinions.

Companys should face this situation by making an efficient and frequent control of networks,to get the rules respected. They should also remind the consequences of what is posted in the web.
